Halal Quality Control follows the criteria of a system called the Halal Assurance System (HAS), set and developed by various governmental institutes such as Malaysia and Indonesia.
The HAS is a system-in-place to ensure the integrity of the company during Halal production at all times and to eliminate all risks for contamination.
Some requirements involve the company to:
– Set up a Halal manual
– Set up a Halal Policy
– Formation of a Halal Management Team (Halal Production Committee)
– Halal HACCP analysis
– Determining Critical Points (CCP’s) during Halal production in Flow Charts
– Follow Halal training and provide Halal training to internal employees
This ensures that a company is aware of the meaning of Halal and why it is an important factor to take this serious as this is an added value for sales and for production.
An auditor will control the implementation of the HAS during an inspection to verify the integrity.
